Dr. Hong-Mei Chen is a Professor of Information Technology Management in the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She formerly served as an Associate Dean for the college and Founder/Director of the Advanced Information Management Solutions Lab. Dr. Chen conducts cross-disciplinary empirical research on information systems design and development. She has directed several multimillion dollar, multi-institution research projects in high-performance telemedicine, multimedia distributed databases, electrical vehicle performance visualization and simulation, data mining, and data warehousing. She has also provided consulting services to Fortune 100 companies and European and Australian governments. She earned a PhD in Business Administration and an MS in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona in Tucson and a BS in Business Administration from National Taiwan University in Taipei, ROC.
